MANILA – Broadcaster Korina Sanchez took to social media to share her thoughts hours after her husband, administration candidate Mar Roxas, conceded to the apparent winner of the presidential race, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.
In an Instagram post, Sanchez said she was asked by a reporter about what she discovered about her husband during the presidential campaign.
She said she realized that Roxas is “the best man of them all.”
“A reporter asked me: ‘What did you discover about your husband in this campaign that you never knew before?’ I answered, ‘I always knew my husband is a good man. Only now in this campaign did I realize that he is the best man of them all,’” she wrote.
On Tuesday afternoon, an emotional but calm Roxas conceded to Duterte and wished him success.
“Digong, I wish you success. Ang iyong tagumpay ay tagumpay ng ating sambayanan at ng ating bansa,” he said in a press conference.
Roxas ranks second in the presidential race with 9,386,781 votes as of 4:29 p.m. according to Comelec’s transparency server against Duterte’s 15,520,595.
Grace Poe, who is at third place with 8,690,863 votes, was the first to accept defeat.
